Early morning on good Friday Byram fire department called for assistance of a rapid intervention team from Budd Lake and Flanders to Sleepy Hollow Rd. for a garage fire. Ladder 58 and Tower 96 along with Chiefs 1, 2, And 3 responded and stood by as rapid intervention crews. The fire was in a garage that was attached to the house Byrams first in engine went to work knocking down the fire and keeping the fire from entering the rest of the house. 4 Handlines were stretched, and crews were hitting hot spots in the garage while crews went inside and opened and checked the rest of the house for extension. There were no injuries and the fire in under investigation by the Byram Twp. Police and the Sussex County fire marshal’s office.
