Thursday shortly after 4 pm calls came in for a reported truck on fire on Route 80 West at mile marker 24.6 on the shoulder. Chiefs 2 and 3 arrived and reported a pickup truck with a flatbed 5th wheel trailer attached fully involved, Engine 59 arrived and stretched there front bumper line on the fire. The fire was confined to the truck with minor extension to the trailer. Rescue 55 was assigned to dike a storm drain and put down speedy dry and Haz-Mat pads to absorb the oil from the truck. There were no injuries and the fire was investigated by the New Jersey State Police the highway was reopened within a half hour.
Clothing Bin Closed
The fire department was notified by the owners of the clothing donation bin at the end of our parking lot that it has to temporally close it due to their Wearhouse being full to capacity.
