allhands_wpmu During the recent dry spell firefighters responded to the Rt. 46 ramp to Rt. 80 for a brush fire Engine 53 used a water can and some rakes to quickly put out the small fire and returned to service within 20 minutes.
The fire department keep busy with a few car crashes around town Squad 56 responded to these crashes and cleaned up debris there were no serious injuries at the crashes.
This past month firefighters held a drill on their new air bags that were just placed in service. Crews practiced raising and lowing them as well as placement under vehicles and also a new tractor trailer air bag. The new equipment will enhance our capability on a very busy Route 80 and 46.
