This week’s extrication drills were a success… well depending on who you ask.
Our members got hands‑on practice with vehicle stabilization and patient removal. Our training dummy, however, had a much rougher week.
Between being trapped, pinned, flipped, and “rescued” repeatedly, we’re pretty sure they’re filing for a transfer to a quieter station.
But in all seriousness — these drills are how we stay sharp for real emergencies. The more we practice, the better we can serve our community when seconds matter.
Budd Lake Fire Department
Always training. Always ready.
(And always apologizing to our dummy.)
And if watching our dummy get “rescued” for the 47th time this week has you thinking, “Hey… I could do that,” we’ve got good news.
We’re recruiting.
If you’re interested in learning real skills, helping your community, and occasionally apologizing to a training dummy, come join the Budd Lake Fire Department. No experience needed — we’ll teach you everything (and the dummy will forgive you… probably).
