The Allamuchy Township Fire Department was dispatched Sunday at 2:56 p.m. to Meadowlark Lane for a reported smoke condition. The call was quickly upgraded to a structure fire, and a first-alarm assignment was requested. Upon arrival, the incident commander confirmed a working garage fire. Engine 91-61, Ladder 91-69, and Tender 91-71 responded within minutes of dispatch. Chief 91 arrived on scene and confirmed a working garage fire. Crews immediately stretched handlines and initiated an aggressive interior attack. Budd Lake’s Ladder went to the roof and assisted with vent and overhaul. No injuries were reported among occupants or firefighters. Multiple area departments assisted at the scene, including fire companies from Green Township, Hackettstown, Independence, Hope, Budd Lake, Netcong and Byram. Blairstown and Mountain Lake fire departments provided station coverage during the incident. The Allamuchy Green First Aid Squad stood by on scene and provided rehabilitation services for firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Mount Olive Fire Marshal’s Office.
