Recently Chief Maloney received notice of a local farm that had a large area of mulch that was smoking and turning black in some spots after investigating the report that was given by the D.E.P. a box was struck bringing Flanders engine and brush truck in to assist Engine 53 with starting to pull apart the mulch that was dumped down an embankment. Tenders were brought in to assist with water supply and 2 extra engine companies from mutual aid to assist. Crews along with the township front end loaders pulled apart the piles and wet everything down all fire was out within 3 hours and crews were released.
