Late Sunday afternoon a call came in for a brush fire next to 340 Drakestown Rd. in the Budd Lake Section of town Chief 50 arrived and had a fire around 200 x 200 feet and spreading. Flanders Fire was called for their brush truck and engine. 53 arrived and stretched the booster line for the grass on fire and a 1 and ¾ line for a small trailer that was on fire. Engine 59, 97 and a Tender from Fairmont Fire assisted with water brush 97 came in and hit other fires and helped mop up the scene. NJ State Forest Fire came in and went to an adjacent field and cut the fire off. The fire was under control with in an hour and crews were released.
