Shortly after 10am yesterday morning Budd Lake and Flanders Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire. First arriving units found the residence fully involved inside with fire showing from all floors. An interior attack was attempted but crews were quickly pulled out due to the fire conditions and parts of the structure beginning to collapse. The rest of the incident was defensive operations. Thank you to the many mutual aid departments who responded to assist. Twice later in the day Budd Lake and Flanders fire had to return to the residence due to pockets of fire relighting. Just a note to all concerned about fire hydrants not having water. The department knows where they are and are not, we drill and have strong plans in place to compensate for this. This fire was well advanced, and water was put on the fire quickly and we maintained a steady water source. Please call 911 quickly do not try to put the fire out first just call. Stay Safe All.
