The beginning of August started off by responding to Stanhope on Rt. 183 for a fire in a 2-story building with a vacant store on the first floor and apartments on the second floor. Ladder 58 responded as a rapid intervention crew and stood by. The fire was quickly knocked down by Stanhope and Netcong units. Help was also brought in from area departments at the fire and station coverage. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Sussex County fire marshal’s office and Stanhope Police.
