Saturday late afternoon calls came in from a neighbor reporting smoke from the garage with alarms going off. Car 91 and Car 50 arrived and called for a second alarm to be struck there was fire coming from the kitchen area with smoke pushing through the roof on the garage side. Engine 95 and 59 crewed up and made entry through the rear garage area and started knocking down fire. As mutual aid arrived and assisted with stretching additional line to the second floor. All companies were pulled out briefly due to a possible floor collapse. Shortly after making sure the structure was safe crews continued to operate and hit hot spots and overhauling. The were 2 firefighters that were checked by EMS but were able to return to work. The fire is under investigation by the Mount Olive Police and Fire Marshal’s office. Due to the heat a third alarm was dispatched for relief a canteen unit and rehab bus were also requested.
