Late afternoon on Monday calls came in for smoke coming from an apartment in Oakwood Village Building # 85 Car 90 arrived on scene and found a kitchen fire and requested Netcong Fire for a rapid intervention crew as engine 95 stretched a line to the second-floor apartment. Budd Lake Engine 59 arrived and assisted with search and rescue. Ladder 58 also came in an assisted with ventilation and overhaul. 4 Dogs were removed from the apartment building and checked by EMS. The fire was quickly knocked down and held to 1 apartment. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office and Police.
