Tuesday afternoon around 3 calls came in for a commercial structure fire on Furnace Street in Stanhope Bro. Upon arrival of Stanhope Chief 1 there was fire and smoke coming from the roof area. Netcong Engine 1 and Tower 1 along with Stanhope Ladder 1 went to the roof and started to open up the roof and had fire in-between the roof. A crew went inside and found no fire, so crews continued to open the roof and knocked down the fire burning in the roof insolation. Budd Lake Fire stood by as a Rapid Intervention Crew while Byram and Hopatcong Fire assisted with filling bottles and overhaul. The fire is under investigation by Stanhope Police and the Sussex County Fire Marshal’s Office.
