Friday night around 7 pm Budd Lake and Flanders Fire and First Aiders were dispatched to Mohawk Trail in the Budd Lake section of town for smoke coming from a basement, Chief Dorlon arrived and reported a working fire in the basement garage area and struck out a second alarm. Chief 2 arrived and took over operations as Engine 53 with a crew of 5 stretched 2 lines one to the basement and one to the 1st floor and started knocking down the fire. Engine 59 and Tender 57 provided water supply and assisted with search and rescue as well as checking for extension. Mutual aid companies arrived and provided rapid intervention, overhaul and station coverage. There were no injuries and the fire was placed under control within and hour. The Mount Olive Police and Fire Officials office investigated the fire.
