Budd Lake Assists Hackettstown

Recently the Hackettstown Fire Department was dispatched by Warren County Communications center to 310 grand avenue for a report of a house fire. The police arrived and reported a working house fire with a second house on fire as first in units arrived fire was coming from the D side of the multi-story house and electrical lines were sparking and the adjacent house was starting to catch fire as well. Chief 78-60 quickly called for a second alarm as several hand lines were stretched into the house and the power company was requested to the scene after knocking down fire on all floors and the start of some overhaul firefighters were held at bay till the power could be cut. Once the scene was secured by the power company the hot spots were put down and the investigation by the Hackettstown Police and Mount Olive Fire Marshal’s Office began, units were then slowly returned. The second house sustained a lot of exterior damage there were no injuries at the scene and coverage was provided by Independence Township Fire and Tri-County Fire. Washington Borough Fire, Budd Lake Fire an Netcong Fire were used as Rapid Intervention Crews.
