Budd Lake fire department RIT was requested mutual aid into Hackettstown for a commercial fire. Ladder 58 changed assignments while in route to ladder the building and assist with venting the roof and also assisted with overhaul. Flanders Rescue 97 assisted with ground ladders and stood by RIT in the front of the structure. The fire was knocked down quickly and units remained on scene for hours overhauling and checking for hot spots. An employee suffered smoke inhalation but was treated on scene and refused to go to the hospital.
