Budd Lake Apartment Damaged by Fire

This morning Sunday 11/27/16 at 05:46 hours the Budd Lake Fire Department was dispatched to Building A Hensyn Village apartments for a reported apartment fire. First arriving units found a working fire and dispatched a second alarm. Engine 53 arrived and stretched an inch and three quarter line to the first-floor apartment as Ladder 58 laid in from a hydrant and Tower 96 came in and went to the second floor and checked for extension. The fire was knocked down in under 20 minutes and all occupants were out of the apartment. The apartment suffered heavy fire and smoke damage. Four residents were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Units remained on scene until 08:30 hours for investigation and over haul. There was one Police Officer that was taken to the hospital and released for minor smoke inhalation. Flanders, Netcong, Chester and Hackettstown fire companies assisted at the scene along with Flanders and Budd Lake First Aid Squads. The Fire is under investigation by the Mount Olive Police and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
