Late Night Fire Hits Netcong

After a day of stormy weather just before midnight Netcong Firefighters were dispatched to Hillside Ave. for a house fire. Netcong Chief 1 arrived and had smoke showing from a top floor window and attic area Netcong Engine 1 came in and stretched a line in and started to attack the fire as the second due hit a hydrant and stretched in. A second alarm was struck bringing Stanhope Ladder 1 in and went to the roof and cut a vent hole as Rapid Intervention Crews from Budd Lake and Chester set up in front. Byram Fire provided air and man power while Stanhope Netcong Squad provided EMS and rehab. The fire was knocked down within forty five min. The fire is under investigation by the Netcong Police and Fire Marshal’s office there was no injuries on the scene. Assistance was also provided by Roxbury, Mt. Arlington and Flanders Fire Departments.
