Mt. Olive Fire 2nd Apartment Fire in a Week

 Monday February 9th around 4:30 pm Budd Lake and Flanders fire companies were dispatched to Eagle Rock Apartment building 18 for a report of a fire Flanders Chief McDermont was the first to arrive and confirmed a working fire on the second floor of a two story garden apartment and had a second alarm dispatched Budd Lake Asst. Chief arrived and assumed command. Budd Lakes Engine 53 was first due and stretched an inch and three quarter line to the second floor and started to attack the fire followed by Ladder 58 whose crew went to the roof and preformed a vent. Engine 59 laid 1,000 feet of five inch into the scene as Flanders Engine 95 and Tower 96 assisted in overhaul and secondary searches. The fire was under control within a half hour and was contained to the rear bedroom but both up stairs and down stairs apartments were damaged. Chester, Netcong and Hackettstown fire companies assisted on scene along with Budd Lake, Flanders and Hackettstown Regional Hospital Ambulances and Morris County rehab unit. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and Fire Marshal’s Office.
