Budd Lake Assists Flanders in Rt. 206 Fire

Saturday August 6th just before 10 am the Flanders Fire Co. was alerted for smoke coming from 213 Rt. 206 as Police arrived and confirmed heavy smoke from the rear of the building Car 90 Chief Widzemok called for a second alarm. After a quick assessment of the rear of the building by the next in Chief it was found to be a large outside pile of old hot tubs and a fork lift on fire. Command scaled back the assignment to a township general using Flanders and Budd Lake Fire units. Engine companies 95, 59 and Squad 56 stretched an inch and three quarter line on the fire and knocked it down within fifteen minutes as crews went inside to check for extension. The fire was held to the outside with damage to the siding and garage doors. The fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and Fire Marshal’s Office.
