On Friday afternoon July 30th the Roxbury Township Fire Companies were dispatched to 1405 Rt. 46 the Stump Factory for the bush fire, as units arrived on scene they found two large piles of dried stumps, leaves and trees on fire. Chief One arrived and requested several Tenders to the scene because there was no water on site. Several mutual aid companies were dispatched and placed around the piles and set up master streams as well as a couple of one and three quarter hand lines. The company’s workers had backhoes and bull dowsers on hand and started to tear apart the piles as firefighters wet the piles down. It took abought three hours to get the fire under control. There were no injuries at the scene but firefighter was sent through rehab stations due to the 85-degree heat.
